The Garden Club (WOGC) was formed in 1973 to promote knowledge and interest in home gardening and to promote interest in keeping Whispering Oaks beautiful by involving the participation of the homeowners. The Club is a member of National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc., South Central Region of National Council, Texas Garden Clubs, Inc., District VII of Texas Garden Clubs, Inc., and San Antonio Garden Center. Every month, the Garden Club tours the neighborhood and selects the outstanding “Yard of the Month.” The winning homeowner is awarded a gift with the Garden Club emblem and is noted in the Newsletter and on the Swim Club bulletin boards. Members of the Garden Club tour interesting gardening spots in the area.
