Lets begin the new year of Garden Club enjoying each other’s company at our
welcome coffee. Lets all plan to attend and learn about our programs and
events for the new year and enjoy our neighbors and wonderful hospitality of

September 17,
2009 “What
Can I Do With My Herbs?”
Judy Barrett is the founding
editor and publisher of Homegrown; Good Sense Organic Living for Texas. She
was previously the editor of The New Garden Journal and of the hosts of the
public television series, The New Garden. A long time organic gardener, Judy
writes for various regional and national gardening publications. Her books
include: Tomatillos; A Gardener’s Dream—A Cook’s Delight and How to Become
an Organic Gardener in 7 Easy Steps. Her new book “What Can I Do With My
Herbs?” was published earlier this year by Texas A&M Press. She resides in
Taylor, Texas.

“Cruise San Antonio River and the new Extension”
We will be touring the San Antonio
River walk to the new extension to the SA Museum of Art traveling by barge
through the city waterways. San Antonio Parks and Recreation
Horticulturists, James Hubbard, will describe the plant life along
the River. Wear comfortable clothes to accommodate the weather. This will
take about 2 hours.
Location: Members will be picked
up and dropped off by the barge at Marriott Hotel River walk.

“The Secret Life of Compost”
Malcom Beck is owner and
operator Garden-Ville, a very successful organic farm with it’s own
marketing centers. For decades Malcom Beck has focused on how to achieve and
permanently maintain the finest soil quality. He has taken time to write
down for all of us much of what he has learned about composting and organic
gardening.

Club will be the location for the annual quad-club luncheon, hosted by

May 20, 2010 “Dining under the Stars”
Last year was such a great success
and everyone had a wonderful time, that we are doing it again!! Emma & Luis
Terrazas have graciously agreed to open their home and beautiful patio to us
once again. Come and feel a sense of magic in the air as a delightful
evening unfolds around you. Each member will bring a food item.
